No Surprise Here...
Everything goes up in price over time. Disney is no exception. I just wish my income would rise as quickly as prices. If you've been to Disney several times in the past you have a good idea of what you need to pay for. And you no doubt expect there's gonna be some prices going up. Surprises for not only price increases, above what you might expect, but additional fees for things that just to be included for free.
A good example is the old fast pass system... Now you have to buy them for an additional fee. At $15/person per day ($60/day/family of 4) going into the parks for just 5 days comes to an extra $300. Not even counting the increased prices for food, drinks, and snacks. Merchandise has also seen big increase in prices. And there have been numerous posts of the quality of merchandise is drastically going down.
If you stayed at a Disney resort, free parking was included... Now it will cost you an additional $15-$25 per day.
Taking a flight to Orlando? The Magical Express from the airport to the Disney resort was included... Now you have to pay for this service. A family of 4 will pay $155-$200 for round trip transportation.
Now add to the list of price increases... Crowds.

During peak periods when crowds are expected very large, Disney has implemented a program to attempt to control crowds and make the guest experience better. Disney will raise prices not only for general park admission to control crowds ( they have been doing this for some time) , but will also require the prices for Lightening Lane Passes.
If this will actually reduce the crowds and the wait times... Well it's hard to tell when standby lines and lightning lanes seem large than ever. BUT, it's a great program for Disney to take more of your money, while making you feel that they are looking out for you. Don't you feel better now?
