Christmas Stress

Christmas stress... What can I say... We all have it... We all hate it... and we can\"t avoid it. Why?

As if the normal stress of shopping and gifts isn\"t enough, add in any normal day to day stresses like family drama ( three teen grand girls)... Social drama... And whatever the holiday blues are. Add to this being retired and older, and there\"s the added resistance and intolerance to drama, any drama, no matter how small.

Possible results... "Snap". Don\"t Poke the bear because it\"s normal peaceful easy going nature will snap at a moments notice when drama is unavoidable. Learn the signs... and back off. Save yourself.

Why can\"t Christmas just be like Halloween... 100% fun with zero stress and drama.

Is been said that Christmas is the most depressing time of the year for so many people. Some because they don\"t have a significant other... and sadly some because they have no one at all. So cherish the family you do have... except for maybe that one. You know... that one that you\"ll see of Christmas that you wish you didn\"t have to. Oh,wait, they won\"t be here... maybe it will be a merry Christmas after all. (Smiles).

In any event... Christmas... So stressful for so many. Expectations... Disappointments... Regrets... Disagreements... Drama... Bad feelings... Emotions... And it\"s all wrapped up in a Christmas bow that pretty much takes the fun out of everything.

And that sigh of relief isn\"t gonna even start until several days after Christmas. No wonder we needed new years to celebrate, relax, and forget about Christmas. Except for taking down the decorations. Outside lights... Those bad boys are gonna have to wait until March... maybe April when the weather warms up.

But come January 1st, life and the stresses of the holidays will give way to simply the normal everyday stresses and dramas that are now easier to manage. Open the man cave, walk in, composer the door, turn the lights out, relax... Ahhhh!

Of course the next disappointment will be when football comes to a close. Then all that\"s left is the long cold winter. The long cold dreary winter. No outside activities. Except for maybe having to shovel snow... now there\"s a treat. (Sarcastic tone in my voice). But actually on some small level, still good to get out... at least for the first ten minutes before you get frostbite. Nothing fun about rosey cheeks and a red nose.

But back to Christmas. Perhaps it\"s lost much if it\"s appeal since it was in the stores since September. Of all the holidays is pretty much my least favorite. Dreading the holiday for almost 4 months... little by little gaining in intensity as the 25th gets ever closer. Some people say it gets here too quick. And that may be true. It\"s also true that most can\"t wait for it to be over. Unplug those Christmas blow ups... and watching them slowly deflate.... with the satisfying feeling that they are melting... melting and going away for another 11 months. Did I mention that I hate the cold?

So... on a positive note... Spring is only 4 months away. Well... that doesn\"t help much.

Anyway... Keep positive thoughts, avoid drama, breathe in and out... and Relax. You have survived many of these before, year after year. And you will again.

Happy Holidays to all.

Merry Christmas

Happy New Year

Ho,Ho,Ho.

(Yes there\"s was a bit of sarcasm in my voice).
