Telemarketers

Telemarketers...

Unsolicited phone calls and texts have blown up my phone for the past several months.   For October,  November,  and up to December 7th, I had 213 unsolicited calls from numerous companies trying to get me to switch to their alternative Medicare programs.  Aggressive and annoying,  sometimes rude and agreementative, refusing to remove my name from their data base.
And it all stopped on December 8th. Not one single call since then. Why? ... The enrollment period ended on December 7th.
I can not and will not move my coverage from the original government Medicare program. Several reasons for me, despite all the free additional benefits that they are promoting and promising. One reason that should concern everyone... Once you are past the initial enrollment period, if you develop a medical condition, any medical condition, then it will be considered a pre-existing condition if you try to go to another company and therefore it will not be covered... ever. So you are, more or less,  locked in to that company for life. They can change the rules for coverage and you are stuck with any and all new procedures or program restrictions.  And if that company pulls out of medical coverage and you have to select another company,  there's the pre-existing clause. Then there's the something... Lots of something's that they promise for nothing... plus cost you less or no monthly premiums.
The old saying applies here... Beware... You are not going to get something for nothing.  Restrictions on coverages... Having to go to doctors in their network... And eventually whatever changes they impose upon you after they have you and you find it impossible to leave.
But to each their own. Some of the new programs may be beneficial to some.
In any event... Glad to see the enrollment period end, and the phone calls and text messages stop.

Buyer beware...
Or is probably too late now.
