Good morning breakfast

Good morning breakfast...

Breakfast at Disney. Typical of all dining experiences at Disney,  breakfast can be a good experience or something less.  And just like all food at Disney you have a couple of choices.

With counter service restaurants, pretty much the best you can expect is 7 out of 10 for the quality of the meal.  Prepared in mass quanties for the masses,  some components will be hot,  some barely warm,  some will seem over cooked or under cooked, and at best, average. Nothing special,  but it's something to fill the stomach. I'd say that over half the time the quality is disappointing, edible but still disappointing. This is especially true in the parks. On a side note... When you do find a good item at a counter service in the parks... Disney will inevitably drop it off the menu or find a way to take a make a good item into a disappointment. Good example... Gastons in Magic Kingdom had two exceptional items ( when they first opened)... a pork shank, which they discontinued,  and hot cinnamon bun with generous white icing glaze and carmel sauce, which was exceptional,  then was changed to less than half the size,  served barely room temperature and a light splater of icing,  that I can only assume got spilled on it by accident.

Sit down restaurants in thevresort hotels with buffet or family style meals are generally better in quality and freshness. Food is still more or less prepared in bulk,  but certainly a step above the parks. Plus you can get more of what you care to enjoy.  More bacon please! A step above,  expect a 9 out of 10 rating for food quality, plus the benefit of table servers.  Atmosphere is also a consideration.  We prefer breakfast at the Disney resort hotels. Whispering Canyon Cafe at the wilderness lodge or O'Hana's at the Polynesian are good choices.

Sit down restaurants at the resort hotels for menu's where your meal is prepared for you personally while you wait are much better.  Rated 9+ to possibly 10 out of 10, the quality is generally much better than in the parks. And depending on the resort, atmosphere may vary with respect to personal preferences, but certainly much better than most of the generic dining areas for the masses in the parks.

To enhance the experience,  add character greetings at breakfast for the small and big kids alike.

Counter service food in the parks ideas especially subject to changes in quality.  Having gone to Disney extensively over the years,  it's easy to see the changes.  Mostly noticed was places that were quick favorites,  and how they became great disappointments.

So there you have it.  Disney food... It is what it is.  Good,  disappointing, delightful, and ever changing.  Did I mention prices.
Counter service prices are twice what you would pay off property, with only so, so, quality. Sit down service is generally better, but again at twice the price off property. And the higher end resort restaurants may seem over the top on price,  but the quality is usually exceptional.

But... Back to breakfast.
Easy choices without reservations.
Good preparation served hot.
For the masses,  but solid 8-9.
Nothing exceptional.
