Perspective

Perspective, thoughts, feelings, and social attitudes.

The trickle up theory. Sooner or later the perspective, thoughts, feelings, and social attitudes of the masses trickle up to the powers to be, and they become the predominant guidelines for how those powers to be reacts and enacts government and social policies.
Who's the powers to be?  The Federal government and its agencies, a well as state government, and the news media that influence attitudes either in a positive or negative way.  And while the vest majority of the population is usually divided near 50/50 on most issues, the news media adds to the social division and anxiety.  Throw in politics, activists and religious issues and any issue becomes more intense and controversial.
So how do social attitudes change on certain topics. All of 2021 and growing in intensity, the entire covid vaccination controversary continues.
It seems that nearly 30 percent of population is not vaccinted. And while many want their freedom to make this choice, others either oppose their choices and look at it as a threat to the health of society as a whole. The latest attitudes towards those not vaccinated is changing.  Okay... Make your choices , have the freedom not to get vaccinated... and deal with the possible consequences.  But not at the detrament to others.  Once again hospitals are being inundated with covid cases of people that were not vaccinated, causing non covid patients in need of those hospital services to go without.  So others are suffering for the choices of others. Not only is elective surgeries being cancelled,  but emergency medical care is being negatively affected. The attitude that is changing... covid cases of those that made the decision not to get vaccinated should not be given priority hospital care over non covid cases. They made a choice knowing the risks... Their choices should not negatively affect others.  For example...Why should  heart attack patients not find a bed in intensive care units because the unvaccinated covid patients are clogging the hospitals?  Social controversy and attitude is changing to give priority to real emergency patients over those that elected to take the risk.
Personally, I say I have to agree.  If someone makes a conscious decision not to get a vaccine, exercising their personal freedom, others should not be a secondary priopity of not get essential medical care because of those choices. Make a choice for your personal convictions,  assume the full responsibilities for your choices... Not to the the detriment of others.
In a case, a non life threatening medical condition, kidney stones are extremely painful... and surgery to eliminate the pain and suffering is cancelled and postponed due to covid patients in the hospitals. Even with the possibility of loosing a kidney, this surgery and hospital care priorities are considered secondary. Priorities need to change.
But this is simply the perspective of again, some of the 50/50 social split on the issue.  And I'm sure that the unvaccinated that are hospitalized with covid feel that they should be a priority regardless of their choices... No matter the negative impact on others.
Sometimes it's hard to understand everything.  Rational thought verses emotional feelings. Personal freedom verses to collective good of the population. A local police department lost 18 of the 95 officers on staff because they choose not to get the vaccine. Crazy.
But to each their own.  Believe and feel as you will. It's not my intention to tell you how to feel ... Just give everything a second thought or perspective.

Perhaps somewhat less emotional and more logical.
Y'all have a good day and enjoy the upcoming holidays.
