Rving

Rving takes many forms.  Those that have an RV for day trips and vacations... Mostly family's that still have a home and jobs tying them to a home location.  Extended travel in RVs... People that are probably retired,  have a home somewhere,  and travel in the RV for a several weeks or months at a time,  returning home and later traveling again.  Snowbirds that have a home up north and bring their RV to the south in the winter...spending the entire winter season,  sometimes November through  March, in the south then returning home for the rest of the year. Then there are those that full time RV.  No traditional house anywhere,  buy the rv of their dreams,  and travel where ever they choose to go, and stay as long as they like. Calling it home... anywhere they park the RV.
Some full time rvers never work and travel to different places throughout the year. Some travel quickly, moving every week or so to new places... visiting lots of places in a short time. Some only travel 2-3 times a year going to favorite places and living like they have seasonal homes. Some take a shower pace staying 2-3 months at each location, sometimes more,  sometimes less... but a much slower pace of travel. Some work part of the year than travel the rest of the year.  This is how we traveled.  2-3 months on each location,  generally working 3-4 months a year.  Mostly part time work in campgrounds.  Doing what?  Campground activities,  office customer service, or escort / maintenance services.  Nothing really hard.  Great social interaction with rvers that are basically there to enjoy a wonderful relaxing time. Workamping... working in a campground generally in exchange for your site, your utilities,  and paid hours for your work.  So while working,  you pay nothing to stay in the campground and make some extra spending money.  Some campground have you work so many hours for your site, 12-16 hours per week per couple, and get paid for the hours worked above those. Some pay you for all hours worked with no hours for site. Some take advantage of workampers charging 28-32 hours a week for their site. Personally... I don't know how they get anyone to work for them.
All in all, is a great lifestyle.  Free to go anywhere you want,  stay as long as you like,  travel ability for all budgets, while enjoying new places and new friends. Life without pressure or stress.
One of our most enjoyable destinations was the Disney World area. We had a couple of campground memberships near Disney,  stayed there several months each year, and become seasonal cast members at Disney World ( worked 2-3 days / week)  and got into all the parks for free as cast members, plus got family & friends in for free with us.  We did this for 7 years. Plus a few years as annual pass holders (not working) just to enjoy the parks.
Yep... a great lifestyle. Been doing this since 2003... Living every minute of it.  Would not have changed a single part of it.  But I could go on and on about full time rving. I'm sure that retiring early at 49 years old,  and choosing the rving lifestyle has not only given us the freedom to travel, enhancing our lives, but also making us healthier for a longer life.  Had I not retired, I would had worked another 16 years... would probably be physically used up, and never enjoyed the past 16 years being free to do as I liked.
It's a wonderful life... enjoyed with my lovely wife... a great life together... rving.
