Stay and play... Downtown Disney... Now known as Disney Springs.. Easily confused with the resort of Saratoga Springs. I'll always call it Downtown Disney.
So if the restaurants, shopping, and entertainment of Downtown Disney is a favorite place to eat and unwind, you have several great choices. Disney Springs Resort just across the waterway, the Key West resort, and the resorts at Port Orleans... The French Quarter and Riverside (formally Dixie Landings). All are great resorts, but our favorite is Port Orleans Riverside... Majestic plantation style mansions right on the river yield a super relaxing atmosphere. The resort is absolutely beautiful and one of our favorites. A relaxing boat ride down the river gives you easy access to Downtown Disney. Easy access to the buses at the main entrance provide quick access and transport to all locations. But depending which mansion your room is in, it could be a bit of a walk to the buses.
So again... A++ for atmosphere, with easy boat transport to restaurants and shopping, quick service buses to the parks. Leaving the parks at closing... The buses can be a bit of a wait.
