Seriously serious!
So what's happening in the world today. It started many years ago... Everything about work got more and more serious. More pressure, more tension, more requirements to have every little detail absolutely controlled and made to perform with perfection. And while everything got more serious, people changed in their demeanor. Everything was taken more serious and need to be controlled. Perfection was the order of the day, and still is. This serious attempt to control everything in the work / business environment steadily spilled over into private lives. Anything that was deemed not to be correct had to be fixed. Anything that wasn't right offended this concept of perfection... and thus offended anyone who though it should be otherwise. Enter the modern age of expanded communication and the internet. Ideas, concepts, and opinions flooded into everyone's life. Some people knew how to ignore and live with things that were not to their liking... especially when it didn't affect them. Live and let live. But the younger generation hasn't grown up this way... Whether it affects them or not, anything contrary to how they think it should be, offends them. Even to the point of actively speaking out and protesting it. And there's the problems facing society today. People are offended by seemingly almost everything and project their views to force society to conform to their wishes... and when it doesn't... there's social conflict and social division. The list of things that offend people is nearly endless... as are their attempts to force their will upon others. The latest thing... words to a Christmas song from the 1940s. The song needs to be banned, and any radio station that plays it needs to be boycotted.
OMG... where do these people come from? Do they not know that there are hundreds of other important issues that need to be resolved verses extremely trivial crop that offends them? Last year it was the civil war statues and wanted them removed. Followed by those that were offended by the founding fathers faces on our money because 240 years ago they were slave owners... so they should not be on our currency... the sight of them is offensive.
Perhaps it would be nice if government, the media, religions, and the general public at large would just tell them to grow up and get a life. No body cares that you were or are offended by such nonsense.
Some would say that this syndrome of begin offended by everything is a product of our working / business society today... instilling the psychological need to control everything to perfection... and conform to their ideal conception of perfection.
Yet it seems that this "I'm offended frenzy" is continuously fuel by the media and religions that gives them a stage to not only express their views, but supports them.
Perhaps it's just me... I don't get it. And I'll never understand it.
Too many people are seriously too serious... going against the wellbeing of society as a whole.
Think what you will... draw your own conclusions.
