Double yum... if you live near Baltimore, and you love great crab cakes, and you haven't been there yet, one of the great places for dinner is Friendly Farms in Upperco Maryland. About 25 miles north of the beltway up I-83, then a short ride through country roads. It's a great setting out in the country on the big family farm. Open everyday from 12 noon to 8 PM. Everything is delicious, but we can not help but get the crab cakes... Every time! Huge dining room area filled with kitchen style tables, yes you have your own table, and everything is served family style. Your main plate comes out on "your plate", and everything else comes out in bowls family style... just help yourself. All the sides are refillable for as much as you care to eat. You get your main dish the meat, sides include fresh cut french fries, homemade cole slaw, pickles beets, pickle/celery dish, cottage cheese, green beans, corn, peaches, fried biscuits, apple butter, and you even get a serving of ice cream for dessert. Well worth the drive... well worth the price. If you're so inclined, take some bread to feed the ducks at the pond. Enjoy. I have since I was a teenager... so many years ago.
