Things are getting worse. The news media is bad enough with bias one sided reporting and agendas, but there is some small degree of accountability for accurate news reporting. Social media has zero creditability as to monitoring accuracy. Not only does it have all the issues as news media, but with no monitoring or accountability, or for that matter, who started the story, outright lies and deception is widespread on posts.... aka propaganda. So much so that even if a posted story is accurate & truthful, no one should believe it. Yet false stories are posted, and shared over & over as if they were truthful... and people believe that are truthful & accurate, and keep passing them on. You can research the stories for accuracy, but who's really gonna do that? Smart people will ignore them... others will get emotionally distressed over them (accurate or not), and pass them on through endless shares to create social unrest. No wonder so many people are withdrawing interest in Facebook. Too much crap going around. Just saying... but to each their own. Such is the pitfalls of social media.
