W.W.W. ... the world wide web... the internet. The information highway that connects us all. Communication and learning platform that has revolutionized how social ideas are shared. Many positive aspects on many levels. What a marvel in today's world. My generation grew up with the telegram, the post office for mail, the radio, newspapers, the telephone and television, and the library and books was the best source for research. Now, everything is at your fingertips, at your beckon call... 24/7/365.
And for all its good, there's always the eventual negatives that will make their way into every aspect of social media. False stories, false information, hidden agendas, slanted stories, and blatant lies. Why? To get others to react to misinformation as if it was true. One side of the whole story, half truths, deception and slanted opinions to get you to react and believe to what you are being told. They, the powers to be, will tell you who to hate, who to persecution, who to oppress... And they will provide seemingly rational reasons why you should believe them. Nothing really new... there has always been forceful powerful influences to try to rule the general population... Be it governments, the media, or religions. As if their influence wasn't enough before the internet came into being... now their influence is in your face on every turn. They play both sides... who to hate, and those that are hated, how to resent that hate, and hate back. They pit people against each other to further their own agendas. They want to make every one feel offended by something, and then insight them to take action against what offends them... social unrest taken to new levels. And its working. That's worth repeatedly... "IT IS WORKING". Social unrest and division becoming greater everyday. People are being told to justified and blame anyone else for their lot in life... be offended by it... hate it. And then they incite people to violence... which plays right into their agendas and feeds the media frenzy to sensationalize every new story.
Where will it end? Probably never... as long as people are emotionally lead like sheep, to the will of others, and continue to loose the ability to rationally think for themselves.
What's next? Social decline... and perhaps even collapse.
Sometimes revel at all the technological advances in my lifetime and have hopes for things to come. I'm certainly closed to the end of my life verses the beginning... And sometimes that's a bit of a relief... seeing more and more social decline.
