Gaston's Tavern in Fantasyland ... Magic Kingdom... one of the small best kept secrets of counter service food. But like most Magic Kingdom counter service food restaurants, its was consistently very good in the beginning, then faded into inconsistently with quality and freshness being a mixed bag of good, then not so good. Uniquely different for other offerings was the pork shank (no longer available) and it was always very good. Still available is the huge cinnamon bun, once always served fresh & hot, smothered in white icing & caramel, and loaded with cinnamon, unfortunately now its a hit & miss item. Sometimes barely warm (sometimes almost cold) with less cinnamon, less icing, and very little or no caramel... this once great treat now reduced to traditional MK food... hit & miss... good & less than good. Stew took the place of the pork shank. Tasty, but then again sometimes very hot, and other times barely warm. Still, a good place to grab a good bite that's generally less crowded in a unique atmosphere. Ya might even meet Gaston himself.
