I've always enjoyed photography. I always had what I thought was a fairly good camera. It all started with Minolta SLR and later a Nikon SLR before the digital age. Later a Canon digital and a Nikon digital. Can't really say I have a favorite, but I think I lean towards a Canon. Plus with the advent of the digital camera and the many programs available to change, alter, enhance, and manipulate photos... well, the possibilities are endless. When I was younger I really got into photography in a more technical way, details and shooting perimeters. Once digital prevailed supreme and photo programs came to the forefront, my focus was on the new possibilities and all the fun I was having with those programs. Of lately, the past ten years, while I still enjoy digital photography programs, I gotten into a more easy going point and shoot strictly for fun photography. This started with carrying my big Nikon along with a good pocket point & shoot camera. The easy to use point & shoot cameras have come a long way, and I found that 90% of my needs could be achieved with the pocket camera. Still used the big Nikon for night time and low light shots especially on Disney rides inside. So bring a bit lazy and enjoying the freedom of a pocket camera kinda took the forefront. Just too easy, simply, and convenient... nothing to carry... no heavy camera, lenses, camera bags or tripod. Wow... Absolutely easy. And for most photos I didn't need lug around the big cameras and accessories. Quick easy, simple, and carefree. Besides, my photos are for my personal use & enjoyment... not for professional needs. And getting older, this was certainly appealing. I'm happy with what I use mostly. Me and my little pocket camera. After all, its about capturing memories. I follow some of the photography pages and their posts, they have outstanding photos, especially in low light situations. Reading about the cameras they use.. well... they must certainly be professional photographers with businesses. Why do I say that? Well, if you carry around $4,000-$6,000 of equipment, I'd assume that you have a business or are very well to do. That's considerably out of my financial situation. Here's s what some if them carry... and its just one camera & one lens. Most seem to carry two cameras or at least multiple lenses. I carry a simple point & shoot.... $150.... good for 90% of my needs at 20mp plus auto festures. Not the best for low light on rides, but perfect for daytime & flash photos.
