Christmas Past

Visions of Christmas Past.
Having spent 4-6 months a year at Disney World from 2004 through 2013, we seen many changes. Some additions, some replacements & upgrades, and unfortunately some things discontinued and deleted forever. Some of the things deleted were short time attractions, and some ran for several years. Some were minor and some were classic major attractions. Christmas time a Disney had its share of deleted attractions. Most notably the  Osborne Christmas lights at Studios... a major attraction for years that drew countless guests to enjoy this classic Christmas spectacular light show. Not sure why this was stopped... but certainly a major attraction passed into history. No less controversial was the elimination of the Epcot light bridge from Future world to World Showcase. The lighted gateway had thousands & thousands of lights timed to Christmas music... Spectacular to say the least. Epcot gateway lights disappeared for 2010, as did many of the Christmas decorations throughout the parks & the resort hotels. Some economic down turns were blamed for the cut back as only 50 percent of the previous years decorations returned for 2010. The official response from Disney was that the gateway lights had become technology obsolete. Having been to Disney every Christmas season ( going into the parks 2-3 times a week for November & December), seeing the drastically reduced decorations for 2010 was easy to see. Never the less, things come and go at Disney ... some things seem to merely be a cost savings cut. Of course, the first thing you think of is the ever increasing prices to go to Disney. Recently there have been lots of cut backs, reductions, and things being discontinued which makes you think about the 70 million plus Fox deal. Perhaps none of this is related.
Nevertheless... Here's some visions of Christmas Past... gone to history.
