It's all in me... and you. Human DNA contains billions of bits of information. The building block for every part of us. Billions bits of memory... not only of how to build and maintain the human body, but much more. Memory... There's the memory of the brain that we access to store and recall every aspect of our lives. Everything we experienced. Then there's the memory contained in our DNA... Not accessible consciously but never the less influencing all aspects of our life. Science now believes that DNA passed down through the generations contains memories of ancestors experiences. This may explain many things. Most notably, the deja vu feeling of being someplace you know you've never been before. Also the very slight momentary fragmented memory, or faint vision if you prefer, of an event from the past... the feeling, sight, smell, and sounds seemingly from the past. Why you have intense feelings about a certain place or historical event. What's your favorite color or number... It's it really yours from your experiences, or being influenced by DNA memory. Something to think about and consider the possibilities. Is you hopes, dreams, and personality not only influenced by your experiences, but also DNA memory from ancestors.

Offended
Offended...
Lately everyone seems to be offered by just about everything.
Things that at have no bearing on their life.
Things that don't affect their life.
Things beyond their control.
Things beyond their influence.
Things that can not be changed.
Things that only result in controversy.
And yet... they will...
Torture themselves over the issue.
Anguish over the issue.
Complain to others over the issue.
Cause social unrest over the issue.
Seek to blame anyone that doesn't think like them over the issue.
Seek to greatly influence / force others to think as they do.
Seek to blame history for what they are offended by.
Will argue until blue in the face to convince others that they too should be offended.
Basically they will make their life miserable in varying degrees as well as those around them, over what offense them.
They will even protest which some would say that the resulting violence is not their fault.
All this while the vast majority of people could simply not any care less... not always about the issue at hand, but how you negatively try to influence or impact others lives... Making yourself and others miserable. I can understand stating your position once... but harping on it day after day... is not going to change anything and again... the vast majority does not care!
I remember a saying: Grant me the ability to realize what I can change, what I can not change, and the wisdom to know the difference. Perhaps it should have also mentioned the ability to let things go... and get on with your life.
Isn't life too short to create such turmoil? Both for yourself as well as others.
Nostalgic
So, what do you remember.
Alive again ( some of them) on some nostalgic cable channels.

On the job
Police... on the job... Just no kidding around...
(relax... Just something that made me laugh.... I have the utmost respect and thanks for police officers that protect us everyday.)
Basin in rock wall?
Question: skyline drive...the walls at the overlooks... some walls have a built up pedestal with what looks like a basin with a hole in the bottom. Does anyone know what this once was?
Got a response back from SNP within 90 minutes... once upon a time water fountains!
I suspect that they were directly from mountains springs. At one time the cleanest water you could get. Probably still is... Just not clorinated for modern standards.
Getting around
Getting around on the Seven Seas Lagoon & Bay Lake. Mass transportation is provided by the big ferries that travel from the Ticket & Transportation Center and Magic Kingdom. In many ways quicker, than the express monorails when its really busy. A nice relaxing trip across the SSL to enjoy the views. What will you see? Views of the three hotels... The Polynesia, The Floridian, & The Contemporary Resorts... Nature & wildlife around the islands and coastline... and of course the slow approaching view of Magic Kingdom its self. Again, mass transportation. Then there's the big motor launches that carry quiet a few guests and make the rounds between Magic Kingdom and the Bay Lake Resorts... The Contemporary, The Wilderness Lodge, and Fort Wilderness Campground. Again a nice relaxing trip across the waterways to observe nature & wildlife. My personal favorite is the small more personal motor launches... generally with only about 25 guests or less, and closer to the water line, it's my preferred way to boat the Disney waterways. There were many times that only a few guests were on board, and several times that we were the only people on board... kinda like our own personal transport. When staying at Magic Kingdom waterways resorts the boats are always a good option verses the bus transports. Our preferred resort? Wilderness Lodge. Boat launches to Magic Kingdom & other resorts for dining. Note: When leaving Magic Kingdom at closing transport to the lodge is always the best. Catch a launch which is generally not too crowded, or catch the bus which is also much less crowded with quicker turn around bus times. Buses to other resorts are generally much more crowded, and have waiting lines of more than one bus load. The Lodge has buses to every other park, other resorts, as well as Downtown Disney (yes, I'll probably always call it Downtown Disney no matter how many times the name changes). Plus there's always personal water craft rentals to motor around the waterways and go fishing.

Gaston's
Gaston's... an almost hidden little secret in Magic Kingdom. But like most things Disney, Gaston started off with an absolutely fantastic hot cinnamon bun... huge, full of cinnamon, white icing, and caramel... And over time found a way to charge more while reducing the quality. Smaller, less cinnamon, less icing, no caramel, and barely warm and certainly not as fresh as before.
Over the years
Over the years... Historic buildings. One such building is right here in Culpeper Virginia. Built around 1770, the boyhood home of A.P. Hill (Confederate Officer), and Historic location during the Civil War, and many different residences and businesses in the past 150 years. Currently local businesses occupy the building that for the most part remains anonymous in nature to the general public as they drive by it everyday. No plaques, no signs, no historic signs tell of this historic building and its history. There are many such buildings & homes here in Culpeper. Only a small few hint to when they were built... The vast majority remain unknown as to when they were built... most certainly from the mid 1800s. It a shame to live in such an historic town, see the buildings, and only have questions. Here's one such building.
