Schools... Drugs... Violence

Schools...  Drugs... Violence...

The schools have a "Zero Tolerance"
for drugs, weapons, bullying, violence, and discrimination.

BUT WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
WHY DO I SAY THAT?

It's good to have a policy... But if it's not actively inforced ... words don't carry much weight when there's not 100% enforcement.

Having teenagers in high school and hearing what they have to say about drugs in the school, there doesn't seem to be very much actively being done to control the problem. Every class break there are drugs in the restrooms. Fights & weapons are a normal occurance. When caught they get suspended or expelled. But there are too few caught.

Still lots of bullying and too little is done. And...  this where the victims of the bullys turn desperate... And school shootings are the result.  And everyone asks how this could happen.

Parents avoid the issue or discard it.
Parents of bullys reject that their kid is a bully and fight the school         on disciplinary action.
Students keep quiet... Don't report the bullying.
Schools are limited what they can do even if they know.
Everyone thinks the problem will face away... Go away on its own.
Until the victims of bullying turn disparate and take guns to school.

So... How does this happen... Repeatedly?
All the warnings signs are ignored. Go figure.
