Drug Addictions

Drug addiction is hard to understand along with alcohol addition.
Why so hard to understand or accept? I was raised in a different way. Never did drugs or alcohol and was happy my whole life. Not that my life was always perfect, but negative aspects were delt with to resolution without drug or alcohol crutches. So it is hard to accept those that abuse drugs and get addicted.

Do those that are addicted to drugs or alcohol have a emotional, physical,  or mental imbalance that predetermines their destiny behind their control ... leaving them accessible to abuses?

Many say its a disease... and perhaps given something emotionally or physically that they can not overcome,  perhaps that had some degree of validity. BUT it started with a conscious bad choice, and continued in an ongoing manner with the same bad choices. Perhaps it's a weakness, that they give into. "They give into",  choosing the easy path to an artificial happiness... Which is really a path to self destruction. Again a conscious choice.

Drugs are a problem. Those that use drugs eventually become problems. And while many do not lead to catastrophic problems or issues there is clearly the potential.

So when some one dies from an overdose or contaminated drugs, their problems are over. And societies problems with that person are over. One less problem in the world.

People say is a tragedy... And on some levels it is,  especially for family and friends that lived in
Anguish over their addiction. But its a finally end to the ongoing anguish. Tragic, yes... That started with conscious ongoing bad choices.  It may have ended up being a disease of addiction... but started with a choices. Bad choices knowing the inherit and catastrophic dangers.

One less problem in the world. How do you anguish over drug deaths... when they cared little so about themselves, the own health, their own wellbeing,  their own lives... and their family and friends ?

Tragic Choices.
