Friendly's Restaurant...
DID NOT REALIZE THEY WERE STILL AROUND!
On a recent trip to visit family in Baltimore they all wanted to stop and eat dinner at Friendly's Restaurant and get ice cream.
It's easy to see why there's not many of them still around.
Dining area was small, cramped, and 40 plus years out dated. It was like going back in a time machine, except it wasn't "New" old... But "Old" , old... and entirely wore out.
But it was crowded, so I thought, maybe the food isn't so bad.
Wrong assumption. The safest thing seemed to be a burger and fries. The burger was cooked hard and dry. The bun could have been fresher, and the fries were barely warm. The bowl of clam chowder was thin, bland, and the potatoes were not fully cooked. Tomato & lettuce was kinda limp. But the Heinz ketchup was very good, as was the Coke. The BLT sandwich was disappointing. To close out the meal, the Ice cream orders were messed up.
All in all... Not sure how this one is even in business.
Some things need to go away. So if you ever run into a friendly's... keep driving. 50 years ago they were pretty good... Not so much anymore.
