Tv Dinners... All the rage.
It was the 1950s, everyone had just gotten that modern technological Marvel... the television!
Black & white picture ( color tv came later ), indoor antenna, 3 channels, 2 fairly clear and 1 a bit fuzzy ( cloudy ). Both parents worked to make ends meet, so fixing meals was made quick and easy with the frozen dinners. And to capitalize on the new craze of television, they named them TV dinners... from freezer to table in 30 minutes with no effort at all. Needless to say, I had more than my fair share of TV dinners. And the bonus part was they were relatively inexpensive... 44¢. And occasionally on sale 3/ $1.00. Even asca kid... They were not very good, but it was food... well, kinda food. But there was lots of choices.
Going along with the Tv and the TV dinners, you needed tv tray tables... So you could enjoy eating ... where else... in front of the tv. Clean up was also quick and easy. Modern convenience!
