Beaches

Beaches... beautiful and unspoiled

We have been to lots of beaches and the beaches in the Florida panhandle are among the best.  Stretching from Pensacola to Panama City, the white sand and emerald waters are hard to beat.
We lived in Navarre Beach for several years enjoying both the tourist areas and the less crowded nature areas.  Pensacola Beach, Panama City beach, and Navarre Beach are famous beach attractions, not only for family vacations but ever popular spring breakers. If you don't care for crowds, avoid spring break. The popular summer beaches for vacationers can also prove to be highly over populated.
And while it is nice to enjoy some of the tourists attractions our favorite experiences were off season and on the almost deserted beaches of Santa Rosa Island at the National Seashore. No public buildings or businesses... just a few park facilities,  scattered parking lots, and lots of nearly deserted unspoiled beaches. Lots of white sand and crystal clear emerald waters and the peace and quiet to enjoy them. Why so deserted? Most tourists only go to the beaches by their hotels, restaurants,  and attractions.

Just a short drive to the National Seashore... And then just a short drive to everything else. Besides the vacation crowds, the only negative aspect to a tourist area... The restaurants have a tendency to not be the best. They have an ever changing ongoing supply of customers... So some,  if not most, don't try very hard to give you quality food and good service.

But... Back to the beaches...
