All the Breaks... 

I'm sure there's different perspectives on everything. 
And while nothing is an absolute...

as in nothing affects 100% of people. 
(except for inept politics and politicians)

But with there the entire discussion about privilege 

They want to make it sound that everyone white has privilege, 

And everyone black does not.

Sorry,  there are NO absolutes.

I grew up in a neighborhood that was multi racial.

Funny... how we all got along equally. 

We all went to the same schools, 

Played together in the same places, 

Enjoyed the same cookouts & block parties,

Ate at the same restaurants, 

Shopped in the sane stores, 

Went to the same movie theaters,  

And got the same after school jobs. 
Now all the talk about privilege. 
As for me... I look back to see where I 

was afforded privilege. 
From childhood to teens, to adults 

we all worked & did the same things

And we're paid the same wages. 
We all had the same opportunities. 
I worked all my life for everything I got...

Just like everyone else...

There were NO freebies or handouts.

So where is all this "privilege"?

A good question...

What percentage of people actually

Either get this privilege,  or denied privilege? 
Clearly it's not everyone.  
If anything, my experience was a negative.

In my adult career, the "affirmative action programs" 

gave training & promotions, regardless of experience,

to specific ethnic categories. 
Prioritized as follows in order of consideration: 

1. Black women

2. Black men

3. Other minority women

4. Other minority men

5. White women

6. White men.

Affirmative action programs were actually reverse discriminatory,

and while in theory was suppose to equalize the workforce, 

It was effectively discriminatory, 

training & promoting less experienced & qualified personal, 

while not considering others...

That worked just as hard to be promoted. 

SO FOR ME... I'M A BIT TIRED OF HEARING

HOW ALL WHITES ARE PRIVILEGED 

AND ALL BLACKS ARE NOT.

JUST SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT.
