Basically Disney self governed itself

Independent of the state of Florida. 

Governor DeSantis planned to change this.

Bob picked a political fight with DeSantis.

Weather

Weather.... The weather is surely up and down.  Last week it was in the 60s & 70s...  One day hitting  81°. This week averaging 50s / 30s. 
So even on clear sunny days it's still chilly. Up on the mountain is usually 10-15° cooler. With heavy frost, ice, and light snow and blue sunny skies, on top the mountain can be quite beautiful. Plus there's no crowds... Our perhaps I should say no body. On a 40 mile stretch... one park ranger,  one utility truck, and only 11 other cars.  But the views were great.  

Rich & Famous

Question: 

Can Disney survive only by the Rich & Famous?

Sooner or later at some point in time,  Disney prices will keep regular income families from going to Disney.  Either the vacations will be spread out over longer times. Once every 5-6 years rather than every 1-2 years. And no doubt, the group of those that can no longer afford Disney will continue to grow.  And once the post pandemic crowds subside, the attendance down turn will begin. 

Question is... Can Disney survive on an ever decreasing crowds, and survive on primarily the rich and famous.  The new star wars resort hotel is already experiencing major down turns in occupancy. At $6,000 for a family of four ($4,700 for two)... For only two nights stay.  Clearly designed for the rich and famous... At least after the die hard fans initial bookings fade away. 

The star wars hotel is currently experiencing closures for lack of occupancy.  A  prelude to the future of the parks? Only time will tell. 

Premium experience elevated to the maximum.

Little things

Little Things...

So many little things, that become so annoying.  The Big stuff... No problems.  The small things that seem to endlessly go wrong to the point where you stop what you are doing until another day. Or the small annoying things that no matter what,  you can not seem to avoid. These are the days of my life. Being somewhat dizzy (BPPV) and the brain fog that comes with it doesn't help either. 
Even relaxing ... watching television... can commercials possibly be any more annoying? I think not. 

Me being annoyed...

Tomorrow... a better day... I hope. 

Age

The Perspective of Aging

There's your actual age... Nothing you can do about this. 

Mental age... Your mind always tells you that you're younger. 

Emotional age... Can you say mood swings!

Positive influenes... on good days... mood swings up.

Negative influences... Not so good days... mood swings fall.

The "not so good days"  take an emotional toll.

When there are more bad days than good, 

your emotional age suffers .

String together weeks of mostly bad days,

and your emotional age makes you feel much older.

Emotional "downs" ... 

Health issues + winter blues + isolation + inactivity

Cold wet damp weather + who cares anyway?

Probably the biggest issues of aging.

Sometimes you don't care... About... Anything. 
And you don't even care that you don't care. 
Then that feeling passes... Until it comes back.

The Magic of Nature  

With minutes, the sky goes from a blast of colors at sunset to a darkened sky. The transformation from sunset to darkness is absolutely beautiful.  It's a shame more people don't take the time to stop and enjoy nature at its best. Last night, in the darkness of the night sky,  no stars were yet visible... two bright lights dominated the sky.  Not stars, but two planets. Jupiter and Venus. Sky app on the phone tells all.

Of all the food we eat a kids,  several things stock out strong in our memories.  There's the stuff that we absolutely hated... liver & onions, stuffed green peppers, cod fish cakes that came out of a can, spinach collards kale, brussel sprouts, and the list can go on and on. Didn't eat them then... And still won't. Then there's the things we like, but had much too much of it as a kid... And have no desire to eat it now... 60 years later... Like peanut butter. Then there's foods you had all the time as kid,  and still have enjoyed it all your life.

Why so much as a kid? ...  It was a cheap meal.

Still a nice treat today...

Good memories from childhood. 

Inflation aside... Not a cheap meal anymore.

Time... We have one concept.

Nearly Impossible

It's nearly impossible!  

Who doesn't love a good steak. 

But for some reason,  it's almost impossible

to get a steak cooked as requested.

They all have the tendency to overcook.

I order medium and get medium well to well done.

Next time I order medium rare,  

since they always overcook, and now I get rare.

Basically ... You can't win. 
Arggg... That's pirate talk for "what the hell".

But there is one place that is always to my liking...
