It's a mid-Atlantic delight. From my earliest memories as a child going to the ocean, it was always a treat to stop at the Taylor Pork Roll stand. Of course you could always enjoy that uniquely great taste at home with the pork roll chub. Pan fried so that the meat was seared on both sides to bring out the flavor, on a soft bun, with mustard. Yum. It was also great on the same sandwich with a fried egg, less the mustard. Probably not the most healthy meat, but certainly worth it because of the wonderful unique flavor. Originating back in the mid 1800s, its been a local favorite ever since. I think the boardwalk stores are gone now, but the chubs and pre-sliced packages are available in most local grocery stores. One of the few things that tastes exactly as it did 60 years ago.
