Disney Resorts. So. What's my favorite? Several to be sure. Top of the lists... Wilderness Lodge, Riverside, Animal Kingdom Lodge, and The Polynesian Resort. The tree houses seem really nice but I've never stayed there. The Grand Floridian is extremely elegant, but a bit pretentious for me.
There are my favorites...
Wilderness Lodge: extremely nice and relaxed atmosphere of Yellowstone National Park. Great setting and you can use the boats to get to Magic Kingdom very easily. Buses are also very convenient...plus when leaving the park at closing, the lodge busses are usually not crowded and run quicker. Simply a great stay.
Riverside: Wonderful atmosphere of the old plantation era. Beautiful grounds and facilities. Boats take you to Disney Springs ( I think I'll always call it downtown Disney), And busses take you every where else. The resort is spread out so getting to the bus depot area my be a bit of a walk.
The Polynesian Resort: Again, top notch atmosphere and its right on the seven seas lagoon making boat access to Magic Kingdom easy. The monorail station completes the transportation experience and transports you to the Magic Kingdom or Epcot via monorail transfer. Big plus... Ohana's restaurant. Ahhh! Absolutely the best. If you don't stay there, at least plan to dine there.
Animal Kingdom Lodge: again. Wonderful atmosphere and complete with wild animals right outside your balcony. Bus transportation takes you to all the parks. Best restaurant is Boma. Bus transport to MK can be slow due to the distance.
So there's a quick bit if insight. Other Disney Resorts are also excellent... like the beach & yacht club near Epcot where you can walk right to the park and the boardwalk.
