Awake early in the morning.... Living deep in the country is entirely different than what I've known my entire life. In the middle of the night...absolute silence...absolutely still... dead quiet... so much so, that you can almost think you can hear the stars. You can hear your heart beating. It's like looking at a photograph... no sound, no movement. Alone with just your thoughts. An even your thoughts go silent as your stare at the stars. It's mesmerizing and hypnotizing. Not a care in the world. Peace and contentment to the ultimate degree. Ya even forget about aches and pains... for a while. Then the silence is broken... a leaf falls and hits the ground. Wow... I just heard a leaf falling. Rather unique. Worth repeating, in the still of the night.
