Covid vaccine... Controversy continues.
If you live in the States, then I'm sure you probably know. For international readers, this many be of interest. Booster doses are now authorized for 65 and older or at higher risk, and initial doses for children 5 and up. Mandatory booster and initial shots are still in the news. As referenced by television news, 40 present of adults still opposing the shot. 60 percent opposing vaccine for children.
Such is life here in the States. Normally I'd say, to each their own, but the vaccine doesn't simply affect them alone. And that's where the ugly controversy continues. The overall feeling... The unvaccinated are prolonging the general risk to the public as a whole putting everyone at risk. And since most of the irrational reasons for not getting have been disproven, people are jumping on the easy religious objections bandwagon. Personal observation... Strange that all of a sudden, people have gotten religion, that never go to church.
Because of the prolonged risk, people are not returning to the work force. There are extreme shortages in the work place, resulting in product shortages and higher prices. On a personal level, we are still getting up every morning to take the Grand kids to school... Because of the extreme shortage of bus drivers. Drivers do not want to drive busses being exposed to what is the largest group of unvaccinated.
As mandatory vaccination dead lines approach, legal controversy heats up. Employees verses companies. States verses the federal government. Emotional issues continue between Friends verses friends... Even family members verses family.
When will it all end? Clearly, not as quickly as it should. When personal preferences outweigh the needs of the public at large.
Tragic situation... Preventable? The CDC says yes. Personal choice to take the risk... Personnel choice for the consequences...
Y'all stay safe. In many areas, mask mandates are returning.
