Cowboy mentality. The old wild west!
Watching tv shows and movies... Time and time again... The good guy gets the drop on the bad guy who has already killed people, and is about to kill more. Then the good guy waits, does something stupid, and the bad guy gets into a kung fu fight with the good guy, beats the crap out of the good guy, and gets away... So he can kidnap and kill again. Happens in every show and movie. What the hell... Shoot them from the get go... At least in both legs. This happens just as often as yelling "police, stop" from 40 feet away... Knowing that they are going to run... And now you have to chase them. Two solutions... Wait until you get close and they can't run... or just shoot them in the leg so they can't run. Problem solved. Of course this is just my perspective... And why I could never be in law enforcement. But to each their own.
A criminal breaks into your house, thrends your life and that of your family... DO YOU... Turn the other cheek and ask for mercy... Call the police and wait for their arrival... or think the last thing they should see is the muzzle flash from your gun. Depending on your preference... knees? or center mass, repeatedly. Perhaps a bit of wishful thinking with crime and criminals out of control. Perhaps it has something to do with crime, punishment, bleeding hearts. Anyway... Shoot first solves a lot of issues... Some permanently. Did I say all this out loud... Thought I was just thinking about it. Now where's the delete button? Oops... Publish? Oh well, once it's on the intent. C'est la vie.
