Who's to blame...

Current demonstrations and violence, and the underlying reasons.
Who's to blame... Today's society is to blame. That's who!
How does something that happened 150 years ago,  directly influence anything that is socially happening to the current generation?

Is it merely convenient to site that because of any remembrance about the civil war, that whatever lots they have in life now, is directly due to what happened 150 years ago. Are they truly due some special consideration for how they feel, or what offends them, and say that anything that happens today stems from events 150 years ago?
Shouldn't someone be appalled by the genocide that was imposed on native Americans that had everything... Absolutely everything taken from them. You don't see them demonstrating or anyone demonstrating to oppose them.
I don't understand.
There's discrimination... Blame the civil war.
There's prejudice... Blame the civil war.
There's hatred and violence... Blame the civil war.
Tear down the monuments and rename streets and towns.
All these things existed long before the war, during the war, and after the war... and soley due to social and political issues continued for 150 years after the war. Today's Social issues are responsible for current issues... not what happened 150 years ago... but ya have to be offended by something, and ya have to blame something to justify your actions.

For 250 years every generation has gotten past history and got on with their life. Loyalists & British vs revolutionary patriots got over their differences.
Mexico and US wars... Everyone got over it.
Japanese vs Americans... everyone got over it.
Germany vs Americans... everyone got over it.
There's enough things to blame today's social injustices for... all because of things over the last 3 generations that have kept prejudices alive... but not the civil war. The blame lies with today's society... be responsible,  own today's societies as being the crux of today's problems.
Perhaps I'm only seeing things from one side.  But I don't understand how society tolerates extremists or why governing authorities issues demonstration permits to controversial groups, knowing there is gonna be violence.  I also fail to see why society needs to bend to the any group through anything but a democratic process... simply because it offends you. And WHY,  because it offends them, everyone should come to their way of thinking. For the most part... get over it, get on with your life like the rest of us. If you don't like it, ignore it like the rest of us, or use the democratic process to change it, if majority votes are on your side. There's lots of things that offend me, most don't effect me, but I don't advocate negatives or violence.
