One place we really enjoyed visiting was New Orleans. Lots of things to do and see. Great restaurants, the aquarium, the Audubon Zoo, the Mardi Gras building, the gardens, markets, stores, and shops, the architecture, and the flavor of the culture, the history, and of course people watching and all the sights. Bourbon Street... not really my thing... but we did walk through during the daytime... not impressed. Don't think I'd ever go there for Mardi Gras, just way too crowded and too much going on. There's a double becker bus the you can ride around town, get on and off all day for a reasonable fee. The graveyards are also interesting in themselves. Let's not forget another must-see, Cafe Du Monde for beignets... you simply can not miss this.
