My Cousin's Place

While visiting Disney,  or if you are simply in the area, one of the nicest places for a meal is at Disneys Polynesian Resort Restaurant Ohana's. I know, I know, Disney food, especially in the parks is not famous for good food. Resort restaurants usually are a cut above those found in the parks. Most if the time you have two choices... less expensive over the counter options that at best are merely average and most times disappointing... or expensive options that have you believe that they are elevated in quality and experience.  Sometimes this is true, sometimes not. Having been at Disney for many years and there are several outstanding restaurants.  Ohana's is certainly one of them. First off, the atmosphere is very nice and the service is great. Everything is served family style to your table. Several meat options and several sides are available and you can eat as much as you care to. Enjoying the pork...bring me some more please. Everything is tasty and certainty above what you have come to expect of disney restaurants. Planning Ohana's for dining is certainly a well worth experience.  But plan ahead, you'll need reservations months in advance.  How to get there... my suggestion,  take one of the boat launches from Magic Kingdom over to the Poly... It's a nice little boat ride and gives you the unconscious feeling of going to an island... to me it just adds to the experience.  Of course you can also take the hotel monorail. If driving, with reservations,  you can park at the Polynesian. While there be sure to explore the grounds and shops. After dinner, if the timing is right,  stroll down to the beach to enjoy the evening fireworks from Magic Kingdom. Relax at the beach for a while, and return to your accomodations having enjoyed yet another wonderful experience.
