The Great American Dream

The Great American Dream

Over the years the American Dream
has changed to mean many new things.

Growing up in the 1960s
The Dream was:
Have a good job to support your family.
But a individual house.
A nice yard.
All the modern conveniences
Have a family, 2 kids, a dog or cat.
A family car and enjoy traveling.

Later... The same dream but now
Husband & wife both work
and have two cars.
Less time to relax,  less travel.

Today...
Both work to barely make ends meet.
Inflation as gone up 5 times...
Income perhaps only 3 times.
It's a loosing battle.

Many can not afford a house.
Renting apartments is like throwing money away.
Rent is sky high... quality is low.

The American Dream hasn't just changed.
It's not really a dream anymore.
It's an existance.

Still... all in all... better than many countries.
But not what it used to be.

The smartest people are those that whole family homes.
Mother, father, grown children & the spouses...
and grandkids... Sharing expenses.
