Protests

Protests... In the News

I understand the right to protest to raise public awareness and that of government officials... IF IT REMAINS LAWFUL & PEACEFUL.

Okay... 1st ... Most protests have agitators that instigates escalated emotions of everyone... usually leading to violence and property destruction. Perhaps the vast majority plan to be peaceful... but those few that insight violence create the problem and it spreads through the entire protest.

Hurting their cause... once they are asked to leave by  police, especially from private property... and they angrily resist... public support turns against them and their cause.

The general public... creating awareness. The vast majority of the general public could personally care less about your protest. Especially when it adversely affects and negatively impacts the public. Moreover it does nothing but develop public resentment if it drags on too long or produces violence... actually hurting their cause.

Protesting on private property... namely Universities. The news reports that the vast majority of protesters are not students. Why would it be allowed to have outsiders protest on private property... students yes... outside agitators, no. Protest at government buildings.

George Washington University... after 12 days,  police moved in to disperse the protesters when things were escalating and the potential for violence was increasing. Some left peacefully taking their property with them . Others resisted,  stayed, and the ensuing scuffles with the police, the chanting of an angry crowd, and as the encounter escalated, tear gas was used, and arrests were made. Protesters the chose to not to leave are now upset that they were exposed tear gas and had to leave personal property behind... go figure.

Today's social climate where people are offended by everything and want to force their beliefs upon others, coupled with protests filled with hot heads and agitators... Well, its a recipe for continued violence. RESULT: the public at large not only could care less, but now condemns the actions of the protesters... Actually hurting their cause.

Society... out of control.
