The good & the bad

The Good... And the bad...

First the Good... Food is one of the joys in life,  and as things would have it... It's pretty much an essential thing to survive. And there are so many wonderful varieties and flavors to enjoy. 

Note the bad news... As per health and nutritional experts... most of a what we eat is not healthy. As evidenced by the over weight, pre diabetic, high blood pressure, h
igh cholesterol, doctor would tell you.  Eat less, eat healthier,  exercise, and drink more water. 

Well, I'm working at that... Little by little. 
The facts as we know them...

Fast food is extremely unhealthy. 
And that's not too hard to take...
Most generally aren't worth eating anyway.
But good all American burgers are hard to give up.

Clearly, all fried foods are bad for you...
Okay... moderation
Not giving them up! 


Processed meats are bad.
But... Ya gotta die from something... Moderation.  


Red meat is not healthy. 
Really... That's un-american.
Moderation? 
Probably a good thing with prices. 


Bacon... very extremely bad. 
Moderation?... I don't think so. 
I don't care if bacon kills me.
Besides... They said that each piece of bacon
takes 7 minutes off your life...
By calculations... I should have died 30 years ago.
Hasn't happened yet.
Of course when that fateful moment comes...
I'll say... "oh shit... bacon"!



OMG... ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY BAD 
Calories,  carbs, cholesterol and fat...
Extra butter and syrup please.
Okay I can really cut way down on this. 
Like one pancake once a month...
Or two bites of my Wifes.

Unhealthy evil Indulgence 
Pre dinner rolls & croissants,
and fried sugared biscuits. 
Unnecessary but essential...
again moderation.
But they call to me... repeatedly... 
saying..."eat me"!

Chinese food...They say total unhealthy. 
Too many additives. 
Again... moderation.
Even though they say is purr-fect.




Processed sweets and snacks. 
Most eliminated... no more.
Oreos... 2 cookies twice a week.


Krispy Kreme 
Once a month or less
as in 1 or 2 donuts total.
Never buy a dozen... too much temptation.

Grew up on UTZ chips.  
Too many childhood delicious memories.
No more than 1 oz per day 
Delicious moderation.

Completely bad... 
Moderation... almost never.
and then shared. 

The ultimate cheat... 
It's called a milkshake.
Pina colada milkshake
with coconut & fresh pineapple,
Icing on the rim holding cookies,
Coconut cake & fresh pineapple wedge
and whipped topping.
Oh... and a drink umbrella on top. 
It came with a think drink straw
and a spoon...
And 3,500 calories.
It's a once a year thing. 
Can't imagine why! 


On a positive note...
Current goals
 Daily Dietary targets... 
1600-1800 calories, 100-120 Carbs, 90 proteins.
Weight beginning 255
Currently... 240  (15 lbs lost)
Goal 225-230
Half way there. 

I know... I know...
Loose weight... exercise...
Eat healtlhy... drink more water.

 Working to stage off that...
"oh shit... Bacon" moment.
