Hazy Night

Under the night sky.  Tonight the moon is very hazy, its 72° and quite breezy ... One might even say windy. Peaceful and quiet except for the wind chines and the wind through the trees. Very nice. The seven wind chimes are orchestrating in perfect harmony.

Be Happy

How to be happy.
Here's one way.

Hopefully it's not your circus.

Then it's easy to be happy.

Tv Memories

Tv Memories

It would seem that memories of the television shows and movies for the most part... Should be left as memories.. Especially the tv shows. Streaming makes it possible to watch shows in their entirely,  all episodes... But looking back they are extremely dated as to the sophistication of the writing, the acting,  and the general filmology, as well as special effects. So the memories far surpass watching those shows today. There are exceptions, but they are few.
The movies hold up better because they writting was better. Especially the mysteries and thrillers.

If you are old enough,  you can fully understand what I'm saying.

Actors & actresses from the Golden Age

Yes... In my youth, tv was black & white.
Some of those favorite shows
In the 60s... Color started to come into being.

Some started as black & white
than advanced to color.

So... How many do you remember?

Positive Note

On a positive note...

Hollywood

Hollywood
Some of the things that happen in Hollywood seem to be left over from the 1940s era. Blacklisting actors. Some are completely understandable... Some are surprising... But all seem to be fun another place in time. Perhaps it's just the term itself... blacklisting.
Sounds like a good old boys studios term that they all got together and decided to single out people... Like a conspiracy... And not let them find a job in Hollywood.  Back in the 1940s & 1950s all you had to do was piss off one producer or director and you were out of work anywhere.  It's probably not too that extreme today, but still works that way when for whatever reason no studio wants to work with certain actors... And you are "out" everywhere.

Some are completely understandable.

( taken from a Facebook site)
Some are a bit of a shock.

And some are no doubt the result of expressing their personal
Beliefs or feelings at a professional level
Concerning controversial topics.

Political... religious... social issues.
You name it and today's atmosphere where no one can agree to disagree on anything, and judge and condenn others because they either want to force their beliefs upon others,  or have others views forced upon them... Well,  there's always controversy.
It's never good for business.

One would think that public figures and especially businesses would refrain for expressing the views in fear of the backlash.
It never works out for them,  but they still do it knowing that backlash could cost them dearly.

Take for example Disney,  and how they jumped into state government politics and all the problems it caused them.

Local businesses that openly expressed their views on controversial social issues... black lives, lgbtq, abortion... and suffered extreme backlash... Protesters and community outrage...
Loosing business or having to shut down.
You would think they would have better sense.
In today's social climate, there will always be some group
That's is offended by any stand on any issue.
And there will always be backlash

Recently listening to people under 40, especially Gen Z,
They feel they have the right to express their controversial
beliefs and condemn anyone that thinks differently.
Then get upset when they are opposed.

I just visited sit back... Watch and listen...
While they make them own lives filled with drama.
Sometimes I think they live for it...
It's their all consuming nature to be controversial.

And they wonder why they are not happy.

ALWAYS  A CONTROVERSY
Peta telling others how to live...

Local business rebuttal

A recent festival...
There was rib festival
For Beef and pork ribs.
People protested, handing out fliers and
Telling attendees that didn't share their views
That they were animal killers... murders.

I saved my baby back bones to give to them
as I left the festival.

Supernatural

Supernatural...
Things outside the rational world.
Imagination or real? Unknown.

This happens nearly weekly.
It's a near pitch black bedroom.
It's happens in the dead of the night.
In a deep sleep.
I'm awaken by my feet being shaken as if to wake me up.
My first thought is... What's wrong.
Thinking it to be my wife.
But she is sound asleep.
I realize it's not her.
Even though I am startled awake,  there is no concern or worry.
I get up, check, and everything is okay.
Strangely... I'm not unsettled by this at all.
I simply wonder if it's real... And why.
Was I dreaming? My imagination? Or something else.
What is the meaning of it all.. If there was one.

Kinda like changing your route to work,  or running late,  and finding out the that if you were on time,  traveling the normal route,  you could have been involved in a tragic accident... people died.

No answers... Only unanswered questions.

Mystery

Who doesn't love a mystery?

The note: well it's still a mystery!

Flea Market

Flea Market Treasures?

Flea markets are interesting.
First... OMG, So much junk, and to think that someone would buy it.
Second... interesting to see really old stuff that you remember from your childhood...  yes, really old from the middle of the last century.
Third... New stuff at either elevated prices of too cheap to be true.
Fourth... Occasionally,  you find something very unique because you never seen anything like it before and is very old, as in 200+ years old.
And / or ... is so odd that you don't know what it was used for. Usually some kind of weird farm tool like what you so in horror movies.

Then there's this...

Pass the holy water please.

Diabetic?

Diabetic?... Pre-Diabetic? ...
Blood glucose elevated in the normal range?

If so, you better have a plan. Diabetes will slowly kill you presenting one serious health issues after another. Painful and debilitating.
Make no mistake... THIS IS A SERIOUS ILLNESS.

THE GOOD NEWS... If you are type 2 or pre diabetic you can save yourself. I was on the edge of being pre diabetic.  A1C= 5.6 and blood glucose =115 (fasting). The highest point in the normal range. My mom was type 2... Extremely over weight 380 lbs... was on pills, then insulin, then higher doses. Didn't eat properly,  didn't exercise, and basically did everything to make her condition be the worse it could be. It negatively affected every organ, including her eyes. Blood vessels in the eyes rupturing great affecting eyesight... and amputation of some toes. Eventually killing her, but making her life both mentally and physically devastating.

But, back to me. Having seen the catastrophic effects first hand,  I know all too well that diabetes is nothing to pay with. So I got numerous books which only confused all the issues and how to handle corrective actions.

Then I found Perry Health. No doctors to see, is all done by phone. They supplied me with a meter and supplies. More importantly, a coach, dietitian, and nurse to walk me through every aspect of controlling, reversing and lowering the blood glucose numbers. Excellent help to understand how to do everything.  Clear, concise, and helpful insight to control blood glucose.  Healthy eating, exercise goals, weight goals, and daily habits. It's not about  "diets"... It's about altering your lifestyle to feel and be healthier. And... it works.  No drugs or medications.  My A1C  is down, and my blood glucose readings are in the normal 82-94 range 3 hours after a meal.... verses 115 fasting. So... type 2 is indeed reversible.  No great sacrifices... just changes. Terrific results...  Over 90 readings my average is 109.... covering all times of the day... before and after meals.

The absolute best service that Perry offers, is the people that help you.  Professional,  friendly, and they have a vested interest in helping you reach your goals.  Really couldn't say enough good things about them. It's like talking to a knowledgeable friend that supports and encourages you to meet your health goals.

Feel better

Old Fashioned Feel Better in a Can

There's not much that's special about
Campbell's chicken noodle soup.
Okay... Nothing.
Not the broth... Of which there is plenty.
Not the noodles... plain, plain, plain.
Not the chicken... That almost didn't exist.

So why does it make you feel better?
I only eat it when I'm sick...
Sore throat sick.
That's today!
There's just something that goes beyond the actual
product in the can... It's a feeling.
That feeling from when you were a kid...
and your mom gave you
Campbell's chicken noodle soup...
And you knew everything was going to be better.

It's it magical or psychological?
It doesn't really matter.
It's makes you feel better.
at least for a little while.

I keep a couple cans in the pantry
Next to the Nyquil and the other
Dozen or so cold remedies.
Just for when I get sore throat sick.

I hate sinus infections.

I feel a little better already.
Pass the Nyquil please...
and the cough drops
the Mucinex
the nose spray
 Tessalon caplets
the antibiotics
the prednisone
and the tussenex  with codeine
KABOOM!

and let's not forget the occasional
sip of Clausen kosher pickle juice
( for the sore throat )

I wonder why my Bp is slightly elevated.

So.... if I'm not really better...
I either won't know it...
or won't care.

Time for a nap.
Later...

TEMU

My experience with TEMU.
Observations, Perceptions,
Cautions, and insights.

Caution first... TEMU will and does tempt you with ongoing promotions that are hard to resist.  Bit by bit...  text by text... email by email... and every time you open the app. Now that's not a bad thing... There are many good items at great prices... too many.

I've gotten items that I need, want, and would like to have for yard decoratiions.

TACTICS:  I generally buy items that are offered on promotions. Especially the limit of 1 promotions. And if I want more than one,  I wait until it goes on promotion again. Everything is always on promotion, sooner or later. Free shipping is on orders more than $10. So just about all my orders are just over $10. One because it's sometimes time consuming to find other needed items to get to $10 after the promotional item. Why just over $10... 5 different orders for $10 rather than one order for $50. My first 5 orders... 2 were late, so I got a $5 credit on each. (USPS service here sucks). One was deemed lost by the USPS, so I immediately got a full refund credit. The USPS finally found the package and delivered it.  $5 credit being late, full refund being lost, and still got the package for free.  All together I've gotten 4 - $5 credits, plus one free.  So while TEMU ships via the USPS 7-12 days, slow delivery and late deliveries are part of the process.  IT'S NOT 2 DAY AMAZON PRIME.  On a positive note... TEMU customers service has been outstanding. All late credits are prompt and automatic. I've had 3 issues ... One item arrived broken, reported, and credit issued immediately.  One item electronic defective, reported, credit issued immediately.  Expandable garden hose leaked the first day,  reported, credit issued immediately. TEMU gives you the option of a credit which is issued immediately for a future purchase, or a refund credit to your card which takes 7 to 10 days.  Of course the immediate credit entices you to placing another order. In all the cases I didn't have to return the items... Just a description of the problem and a photo.

All in all... I'm very satisfied with TEMU. My perception... Most things are good quality at very good prices.

Here's some of the things I've got from them.

NOTE: I gotten 3 pair of sunglasses, on 3 separate promotions.  Best sunglasses I've ever had. I gotten 3 sets of Garden hose quick connects, again on 3 different promotions. Several 3D shirts... good quality. Several garden flags, very good quality. Tool accessories at great prices.  Plus other stuff.

THE CAUTIONS...
Longer delivery times.
Endless promotions to bait you.
Read descriptions carefully... quanity & sizes.

THE UPSIDE...
Great prices
Great customer service.

Electronic warning:
Things I've bought... failed... But we're refunded.
Motion sensor led lights... 2
Led flashlight... 1
Bluetooth transmitter... 1
So... be somewhat wary of electronic devices... too cheaply made.

Wild Photo

All Black Zebras?

Like I said... Cool Photo.

Advise

Advise... I'm not clever enough to think right now to think of an answer... but the word Advise should be an acronym for ...

Good information that used will make their life better and ensure happiness,  that they are not will to take, because they think they know better, when they really don't.

Advise that will be repeatedly ignored... resulting in countless times of emotional distress and unhappiness.

Eventually followed by others not caring to listen to their complaining and emotional distress anymore... all the while thinking...
I told you... Repeatedly... And you would not listen.
I can't feel sorry for you.
I still love you.
But I can't feel sorry for you.

And to think... It all started with texting.... continued to get worse with ongoing texting... exasperated by never ending texting.

Memories of Adventures

How many have you been to?

Twinkies

Twinkies are out... donuts are in.
Traditionally twinkies were always
the unofficial treats of the police.
Just ask Sgt. Al Powell

Donuts are the treats of choice.
Why?

Donuts are round.
Twinkies are not.
Why does that matter?
You can roll out on twinkies.

To protect & serve.
Protect coffee breaks
Serve tasty donuts.

But on a serious note...
I commend their service to the community.
It's a thankless job.

Perspective

Just like everything in life...
It's all about perspective.
