A Happy Life... but, where did the time go?In a childhood... long, long ago... far, far away.
There's many things that go into having a happy life. It starts with a happy childhood. Growing up in a community of row homes in Baltimore County with kids everywhere. So while in elementary and junior high school (now called middle school)... we all had lots of kids to play with, socialize with, and develop social skills.
Best childhood ever.
And as life moved on with marriages, family, and careers... some of us slowly drifted apart, moving away, scattered to the winds. Moving on with our lives where ever it took us. My dream was to be in archeology... reality had a different plan. Still happy for career etc, etc, for the next 30 years. Then at 49 years old I took the 30 year pension escaped the conventional life of work & house.
So myself and the life of my life sold the house, bought the rv of our dreams and drove off into the sunset. 20 years now... fulltime rving. New places, new friends, and lots of adventures. Adventures that are lived daily, over the years... verses ocassional vacations. One of the best experiences was being seasonal cast members at Disney World. Worked 2 shifts a week, usually 4 months a year for 8 years... generally in the winter... sunny florida. It gave us year round free access to all the parks, discounts, and perks. We got free park passes for 52 family or freinds every year. Then traveling the other 8 months in the rv... a 40 foot fifth wheel trailer with 3 slide outs.
A great life style traveling places, staying as long as we liked, then moving on to new adventures. And what made t all the better... enjoying and sharing it all with my wonderful wife Shelly... best friend and the love of my life.
Still very happy after all these years.
Going to be 70 this year. Where did the time go?
Still... lots of fond memories of childhood friends and places. Hope yall have a great day.
Enjoy your summer.
I still remember 8th grade teacher asking everyone in the class what they want to be when they grow up. Most said the usual, policemen, fireman, nurse, doctor. When I got my turn to answer what I wanted to be when I grew up I simply said I wanted to be happy. The teacher replied I don't think you understand the question. My response was, I don't think you understand the answer. And that's been my life ever since. No doubt a product of my childhood. Thanks to everyone that was a part of it.
