Should he stay or should he go?
That is a question with many different perspectives. And what do the fans know as took the truth. Some say he is unhappy in Baltimore... Who's really knows? And the questions of his willingness to play when the team needed him... And he didn't... a choice?
There are some things that are for certain. He is prone to injury. His style of playing makes him even more likely to be injured again, no doubt repeatedly. He is holding out on this contact to create better leverage to get what he wants... reportedly $250 million for 5 year contact... originally $300 million for ten years. Guaranteed if he can play or not. To me that guarantee is unacceptable. Everyone in life gets paid for their performance. Getting guarantee pay for not being able to do the job... Especially given his history... It's a bad decision.
Most of his success relies on his running ability.
His throwing ability is clearly in question for consistent accuracy... And his ability to play smart and consistently make good decisions is clearly in question.
Can he, or is willing to get better? Our will he be another Flacco? Get the money and be lack luster ... dragging the team down for years.
The fans are not willing to have another Flacco situation.
Keep him to see if he can play smarter... yes. To see if he will get better... yes. But to give him unconditional guaranteed pay... NO!
