BALTIMORE RAVENS

Baltimore Ravens Football

NFL Regular Season football and the first round of the playoffs has came to a close.  All the winners more on... And all the loosing teams are reevaluating their strengths and weaknesses, and what they need to do to improve their teams performance. And on some teams... Heads will roll.

The Baltimore Ravens clearly need to make some changes.  The team has three own perspective, and the fans have their own perspective. The fans perspective is much more critical of failures in performance... Mainly of the offense. Years ago after the success of QB Joe Flacco winning the Super Bowl,  Joe was claimed as our franchise quarterback and given a multi-year contract. The years that followed, Joes performance were nothing less than disappointing, and the team was basically stuck for several years.
Keeping that fresh in mind fans look at Lamar Jackson through this same eyes.  Lamar had a great start with the Ravens,  creating a lot of hopes and optimism. The past two seasons,  and especially this season, Lamars short comings seen to be more pronounced.

Fans observe the following issues.
His running ability has indeed been a great asset... but, his running which has become too grest a part of his abilities, lends itself to getting seriously injured. Which he had already experienced several times. Not a safe gamble.
His passing ability is clearly less than optimal, especially this season where too may passes are off target. Coupled with his perplexity to always be looking right from the get-go where he's going to throw the ball thus tipping off the defense.
Along with this, his overall passing decisions are not what anyone would consider smart.  There is a great disparity  from Lamar to NFL smart QBs like Brady, Mahomes, and many others successful QBs.

Then there's the injuries...  last year, and extensively this year.
In the mind of most fans.... Lamar is up for a new contract, reported at 10 years for 300 million dollars or 5 years for 250 million with no contingencies for performance and being guaranteed whether he can play or not.

This all seems like a bad investment risk. And we are truly not worse off without him.  And potentially crippled for years with him. So fans are not supportive of his demands verses his performance and injury history.

Fans lost faith in the offensive coordinator Greg Roman ... He has resigned... And in the eyes of the fans... One problem solved.

Guess we'll just have to see.  Clearly change is needed.
