GONE... CERTAINLY NOT SOON FORGOTTEN
Disney has always made changes, upgrades, and re-themed attractions. Without exception due to the attraction greatly loosing is appeal... Then replaced with something new and exciting. But that wasn't the case here. Splash mountain was always one of the most popular attractions over the years... And showed no signs of guests loosing interest. It has been a popular as ever. Huge crowds to get a final ride experience only confirms the popularity.
It all started with the theme somehow being offensive to some people. And in this day and society... God forbid that anything offense someone. So it had to go. Which is now being explained as a normal evolution of changing themes. Good typical public relations response, keep everybody happy. And I'm sure the new theme will be very nice. Just sad to see this one go.
