Nature & History

Nature & Natural History

I love nature and natural history. Seemingly, it appears that the vast majority of people at best, are only passively interested or not interested at all in natural history. Little attention is paid to weather and natural history.  To most, weather is what happens today or is forecast for later this week. In centuries past, life depended on knowing earths natural cycles for weather... Mainly growing crops for survival. Modern society has little concern the cycles of nature... the food supply simply involves going to the grocery store.
Today, society has little knowledge or concern for the earths weather cycles. They are surprised as weather events become more frequent and more intense... but only when it affects them.

One thing that is occurring slowly, but inevitably, is global warming, melting of polar ice caps,  and raising ocean levels. Ocean levels that will affect all coastal areas, especially coastal communities and cities... like Florida & Miami.

Hopefully the natural cycle will slowly progress. And although accelerated by human development, hopefully that excceleration will not reach a tipping point where catastrophic melting will occur quickly beyond human ability to respond or cope. But raising ocean levels are inevitable as part of the Earth's natural cycles. Changing the face of the Geographic world. So don't be surprised.

Probably not drastically in my lifetime,  but within the next several decades and certainly 100 years, the changes will be dramatic.

Surprise! ... It's coming.
