Shenendoah National Park and the Appalachian Trail. S.N.P. has 500 miles of internal trails and many intersect the A.T. So while many enjoy a day of nature hikes within the Park, you are likely to see many through hikers on the Appalachian trail that runs from Georgia to Maine... especially this time of the year. Most start their long journey in Georgia heading north. Generally no one leaves any evidence of their journey... leave no evidence of your travels. But some are a bit creative to leave a message with respect to nature. Wow... 900 miles so far. Clearly not me, but someone more physically capable. Short trips on local trsils is enough to do me in... but its perfect for recharging in nature.
