[FLASHBACK] – June 2005.
Over 5 years ago we got the see what appeared to be a live breathing dinosaur walking around… where else… Dinoland at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park. “Lucky” was on tour around all the Disney parks in the world and we just happened to be in Florida when he was there. Too many times a special event happens and we are usually several states away… miss it… and never get the chance to see it again. So we had a chance… just by chance… to see “Lucky” this one time… and as far as we know he never returned to WDW in Florida ever again. Disney has lots of promotional shows that are here for a short while, than gone forever. These special attractions add a lot of favor to the regular Disney mix of entertainment… just a shame that they go away so quickly. Kinda like the Princess & the Frog Riverboat Show on the Liberty Belle. The show ran for 3 months to promote the movie… and than it was gone!
But that’s another story >> http://rvkamping.blogspot.com/2009/12/new-river-boat-show.html
But back to Lucky.
Our Adventure that day took us to Dinoland.
We saw the usual residents…
But was in for a special treat today…
“Lucky” the dinosaur
Walking around interacting with the crowd
Pulling his cart with ease as he made his way into history.
Lucky was the first of his kind… a free roaming auto-animatronic figure. Full on life size and able to actually make expressions on his face while interacting with the crowd and walking through the park. Kinda took us both to almost a state of disbelief… but than again… it’s Disney… and that’s what they do best! Just a little more Magic. If Lucky returned to WDW, we never got the chance to ever see him again… but I’m sure he’s amazing crowds somewhere.
Maybe again… someday!
