Just something to think about! Just a moment of serous thought! I’m just throwing it out there… if it hits a sore spot… so be it. And yes… You are entitled to your sore spot… but may want to consider why it bothers you.
Now here’s a topic that could potentially put brothers at war… and has… as well as many others.
Lets start here: A Few definitions to help clarify.
FACT: the quality of being actual, something that exists or occurs, a piece of information, can be proven
TRUTH: the real state of things, the body of real events or facts, agreement with fact or reality
BELIEF: opinion, sentiment, something as a tenet or creed that is believed,
( tenet: principal or doctrine held in common by members of a group… political, religious, business, or whatever. )
( creed: a statement of essential beliefs as in a religious faith)
Lets start with BELIEF. Belief is a feeling or sentiment that can be based on FACTS and TRUTH… or simply a belief in something that CAN NOT be proven, verses something factual. Without FACTS there is really no solid basis to have TRUTH… since TRUTH is the “real” state of things as it relates to FACTS, and the reality that those FACTS can be proven on something that actually exists. So BELIEF and be rock solid based on FACTS and TRUTH…. or …. it can be simply an opinion, sentiment, or something of a principal or doctrine, tenet or creed, held by a group that have FAITH in what they believe, and hold to be true and real, despite the lack of FACTS and TRUTH to back it up with any certainty with rock solid evidence.
FAITH: allegiance to a duty or person or entity or group, belief and trust in something, complete trust based on BELIEF in something that may be based on FACTS and TRUTH or NOT. So you can have FAITH in something that you believe, whether it may or may not be based in FACT and TRUTH… either provable or not.
FAITH comes from BELIEF, and if BELIEF comes from that opinion or sentiment which may not able to be proven…so, because there are no actual facts or truth to prove it …it can not be offered as FACT... ( Hence the term… “Blind Faith” ) well, there in lies the possible problem. And this doesn’t make beliefs and faith any less of a conviction… like anything else… it’s a personal choice. Belief and faith and be 100%…. based on Facts and Truth, or Blind Faith & beliefs based on just opinions and sentiment.
Now… you may need to reread that again… and digest all the meanings.
The only problem I have… and the world in general… is when faith and belief based on opinions and sentiment are held to be the absolute truth even though there are no actual facts to support it, and… all those independent beliefs have no tolerance for anyone else that believes differently. There are those that can not live with the fact that others do not have the same Faith or Beliefs as them. Wars are fought over this throughout history… and this will probably never change. Sad state of affairs.
Why can’t everyone live in harmony.
So that’s where the world is at.
Just something to think about.
On a positive note… general religious beliefs are the fabric of most societies. They determine right from wrong, good from bad, and what is socially acceptable and what is not. Hence, the Law of the Land… otherwise we’d all live in chaos. Now we are down to Law and Justice. Justice is a absolute positive that has been corrupted by the rules of how to apply the laws… and somewhere while civil rights were being protected, the mutation of the rules to ensure fair and just trials has become a travesty of injustice that favors the guilty and turns a blind eye to the victims. But that’s another topic. Somewhere 150 years ago we became too civilized and decided that hangings were inhuman, no matter the offense or how terrible it may have been. Thank You to the “Bleeding Hearts” that protected the guilty and let them go unpunished… hopefully perhaps someday, the victims may have as many right as the criminals… and justice will once again always prevail. Of course this will be dependant on laws and the politicians ability effect positive changes… in which I no reason to BELIEVE or have any FAITH in any politicians ability or convictions to do what is right and just … and that’s the TRUTH based on the FACTS of past performance. So if you have a trust and faith in your political party… you are welcome to your beliefs and sentiments ( it’s called “Blind Faith” ) … I’ll stick to the truth and facts that neither is worthy of my backing or support. But that’s another story too.
So what do you make of all this… well… it’s up to you. Cause this too is your choice… and you are welcome to it.
It’s only a problem when someone feels that their choice… based on their beliefs and faiths… should also be mine.
The Law of the Land is one thing… this is something else…Why should anyone have to live with someone else’s choices forced upon them, when those choices oppose their own beliefs? … especially when those choices are based on faith, beliefs, opinions, sentiments, tenets, or creeds and have not basis in FACT or TRUTH.
