Years ago, basically all of history up to the 1200s or 1300s, every one knew that the earth was flat. And if you sailed too close to the edge, you and your ship would fall off the edge into oblivion, never to be seen ever again. Of course as modern knowledge came into it own, it was clearly apparent that the earth was indeed round like a globe.
Have said that, it's amazing what some people think.
The survey didn't indicated which group of people were questioned... Assuming they were mostly under 30 years old. 10% of those questioned still believe that the earth is flat.
That tells you volumes about what they are teaching in schools... or not teaching. And that social media has been instrumental in spreading falsehoods. And we all know that everything on the internet is true. Right? That's what too many people under 30 believe.
