Every once in a while I'll think about Disney World. Great memories. If we ever returned, those memories would only be tarnished by the modern today experience. Our experience started in 1972 with vacations. Vacations every 6-8 years through 2003. In 2004 we became Cast Members through 2011. Got to do and see everything we wanted. To say time and time again couldn't begin to account for hundreds of visits over those years. That's our basic for comparison. Todays experience... Basically, over the top crowds and wait times for everything. Not to memtion sky high prices for everything. And things that were once included for free, now come at premium prices... namely "fast passes". You could get one free almost every hour to enjoy your favorite attractions. Now while some are free on a very limited basis, there are several plans to buy fast passes, aka lightning lanes, aka whatever they are called now. Buy 3 passes per day for a price per person, going up to unlimited passes for at last price, $400 per person per day. Guess many will continue to wait in long lines for hours.
But, back to Disney gone. So many changes... so many things gone to make way for the new. Nothing wrong with new, but something always has to disappear. Those things all had memories attached to them, now simply gone. So returing would make you miss what is now gone.
The latest thing to disappear is the Liberty Belle Riverboat. A park original attraction. An icon of early America on the great rivers of this country. It was always not only a joy to see, but it was a way to relax and enjoy a bit of Americana history. It joins the night time parades at magic kingdom, the dedication fountain at Epcot, and numerous other attractions that are now gone.
The Liberty Belle Riverboat
will be missed.
