How it "should be" is an lofty illusion of how it once was, which could be if it could, but can't because would is an action word, while could is merely idle words with no definitive action. It could, if it would, but won't cause it can't. Sounds like something Tweedledee or Tweedledum would say. Kin to the word... the appropriate response... fiddliedee. Never take me too serious... I don't... and wouldn't if I could... so I won't.
Don't... a "D" word... Implying a negative action. Don't if you could... but clearly don't if you would (thinking about really doing it).
Remember... "C" words are merely talk. Can, could, can't.
While "W " words are action words... will, won't, would.
Not to be confused with "why"... which asks a question.
Which brings us back to... fiddliedee. I don't care... which is kin to won't. I would if I want, but won't, because I don't care.
Just go away... I know you could, but will you, would you?
