Gaming... Board Game with laptop.
Mansion of Madness.
Mansion of Madness.
The gaming board starts with one room, and builds on from there as the game play advances. It kinda looks like "clue" house... but more expansive and elaborate. It's a little like "D&D" but entirety different.
There seems to be unlimited variations of gameplay as players make decisions, hopefully as a team, and the program provides different scenarios and challenges. You will never be bored... but always be challenged with variations and different difficulty levels.
Players choose their idenity. The companion program on the laptop sets the stage and configures the play of the game. Players make their decisions on the game play... and the results are then put into the laptop... the program tells you what is going to transpire next, as if the program is making a move ... then players, acting as a team, response to the challenges... puting the results into the program... setting the stage for the next events. Solving puzzles along the way and defeating the demons that hunt you in the mansion. Your teams goal... Complete the quest, solve puzzles, kill the demons & monsters... Survive to win the game.
I don't care for "D&D"... too slow, drawn out, really not for me.
But I really enjoyed this game. It appears to have many scenarios for the gameplay... Which include 24 map tile for insure and outside the mansion... And 24 monsters to battle. But not to worry... The program holds the game play to a reasonable timeline. The first game I played only involved 8 rooms and 5 monsters. It tool about 2 hours.
The game play with all the tokens, spells, and action cards can be a bit overwhelming at first... But it all comes together rather quickly.
We played this with friends ( their game). I would buy this myself if I had 2-3 other friends that were game players.
Well worth the money. Starter base game $89. And once you are really into it, a expansion set is $69
