Dumb... It's all about perspective.
Good news! Most people fall between the mostly smart, knowledgeable, while sometimes doing dumb things and occasionally stupid things. And there in lies the human experience... probably 90+ percent of people fall into mostly smart but sometimes doing dumb things. On the upper spectrum, people rarely being dumb. And on a lower end, somewhat less smart and less knowledgeable and prone to doing dumb things more often, and in some cases, most of the time. What would be considered smart people, knowledgeable, thinking, and rarely ever do dumb things, and almost never act stupid.
The older you get, the more knowledgeable you become. And coupled with an elevated thought process and the ability to rationally "think", you will be smarter than the average person... which sometimes, most times, isn't very difficult. So, half the people are smarter than the average person.
So, there you have it. Perspective... comparing things from one point to a different point. So the smarter you are the more stupid some others may seem. "Dumb" stands out in brilliant contrast.
And I'm sure that you have been there all to often.
Just something to think about. And draw your own conclusions from your perspective.

A really smart logical person could easily conclude that way too many people are dumb or at least act that way. Now there's two things to consider. There's dumb... Then there's stupid. I'm not really sure of the difference between dumb and stupid. While dumb could refer to a person that is in some degree capable of being educated. The thought process is limited despite knowledge for at least some of the time. A stupid person despite being exposed to knowledge will not retain knowledge, let alone possess the ability to correlate thoughts, therefore stupid is doomed, and a lost cause. Few people are completely stupid, although many clearly portray themselves as such some of the time. Dumb, has varying degrees for how often they are just dumb, verses with how often they are acting stupid. Dumb people have less desire to not only learn things, gain knowledge, but thinking for themselves is not their thing. Applying thinking to aquired knowledge. They are more comfortable not seeking knowledge and enjoy having others doing the thinking for them. Hence... Social media. Not the best place to aquire actual factual knowledge.
