Coming to grips with an issue...
Getting Old? Its a strange thing. Your mind sees yourself as being much younger... both physically and mentally. And while there are occasional reminders that physically you're not as young as your mind thinks and feels... mentally your mind, thoughts, feelings, and awareness is acute as ever, perhaps even better because with lifes experiences comes understanding and insight.
So, your mind is a good as ever, it doesn't quite match with the aging body. Realizing you are logically closer to the end than the beginning... After all, no one lives forever. Do you continue with a young mind until the end? Seems to be unfair... if the mind continues, why not the body? Is your sharp mind shocked to realize the body is failing? Is your mind shocked in the final moments? My grandfather lived to be 86, generally good health and sharp mind until the very end. A stroke on Saturday, gone by Monday. I guess when its time to go, that's the best way... sound mind and body until the very end.
The moral to this post? Be happy everyday. Enjoy life everyday. Keep your mind sharp.
