Vacation

Vacation to visit family in Texas. 1,528 mile journey over 3 travel days by car.

Making the trip with while... Visiting for the entire month of September. 

 Day 1 ... First stopover... Lebanon Tennessee just east of Nashville. Stayed one night at Comfort Inn & Suites...  very nice hotel - 5 stars!

 Day 2 ... Texarkana Texas ... Country Inn & Suites - poor maintenance,  poor housekeeping. Expected better.

Day 3 ... Last travel day to finally arrive in San Antonio.  Dallas bypass made travel easy. However Waco to Austin Texas was a travel nightmare. Saturday mid-day, 45- 60 minute traffic delays going from Waco to Austin. Austin has only two lanes for a major city on a major interstate, aweful traffic. Traffic delays and backups all the to Waco and beyond. Rolling backups and stopping for no reason at all unless you count hills, clouds, or squirrels. So I-35 from Waco to south of Austin not recommended.  Austin has a bypass toll road... $24... might have been worth it.

Arriving in San Antonio...beltway traffic was light... Thank goodness,  we needed a break. 

We have the whole month to recover and enjoy time with family.
