Why? ... Well in the beginning it was pretty straight forward and the prices were pretty fair. It had long since mutated into a place for rip off prices by unchecked sellers. Over the past several years I visited ebay to check on something with the same results. Over priced rip offs. True... You don't have to buy at those prices, and most are not deceptive about the item or prices. They just try to find unsuspecting buyers that don't know and pay the overly inflated prices for hard to find items. I'm sure there are lots of sellers that offer items at fair prices... most times it's just not worth the search.
Here's a good example.
Amazon seller... $600
Ebay sellers... $850 & $1,235 ...
Just like many Disney items first available in the parks. Ebay sellers buy dozens of each item at Disney, then put them on Ebay for 3 to 4 times the Disney price.
